How much does CruiseBuddy cost?
CruiseBuddy is free to use for planning your cruise: the itinerary, ports and excursions, packing, to-do lists, the people you are travelling with, and tips, for two upcoming cruises at a time.
Cruise Buddy Plus is an optional monthly or annual subscription, made in the web app. It adds budget and spending, travel documents, the journal, a map of the places you have visited, hotels and flights, weather and sea conditions, deck plans and unlimited cruises. Your subscription covers every cruise on your account, on every device you sign in to, through the period you have paid for. See current prices on the Plus screen.
Where can I use CruiseBuddy?
CruiseBuddy runs in any modern web browser at app.cruise-buddy.app, so you can use it on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, and Mac, Windows or Linux computers. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.
Is CruiseBuddy useful for any cruise line?
Yes. CruiseBuddy is cruise-line agnostic, you add the cruise line, ship, sail dates, ports, cabin and booking details yourself, so it works with any cruise booking.
Does CruiseBuddy work without internet at sea?
CruiseBuddy keeps a copy of your cruises on each device you use it on, so the details you have already added open without a connection, which is useful when ship Wi-Fi is patchy or expensive. In the web app, install it on your home screen and open your cruise once before you sail. Changes you make offline sync when you are next connected.
How does cruise sharing work?
CruiseBuddy uses end-to-end encrypted magic links so you can share a cruise plan with travel companions. The link expires automatically and only contains the trip details you choose to share. Read more about sharing.
How do I get my cruises on a new device?
Sign in to CruiseBuddy on the new device with the same email address, and enter your recovery code. Your cruises sync across on the free plan too. Documents and photos come across with Plus; without it, they stay on the device they were added on.
Keep your recovery code safe. Your plans are encrypted with a key only you hold, so we cannot recover them without it.
Where can I see what data CruiseBuddy stores?
The full breakdown lives in our privacy policy. Short version: cruise plans are encrypted on your device before they sync, and shared bundles are encrypted the same way, so our server never sees them in the clear.
